INGREDIENTS :
Ladies finger 1/4 kg (chopped)
Big Onion 1 (Chopped)
Tomato 2 tbsp (chopped)
Sambar powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Coconut 5 tbsp (grated)
Oil 4-5 tbsp
Curry leaves few
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Channa dal 2 tsp
Hing 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste.
METHOD:
Heat 2 tbsp oil and add mustard, urad dal and channa dal.
Then add curry leaves, onion and tomato and saute till the tomato is mashed.
Now put the chopped ladies finger and saute well for about 5- 10 mins stirring occasionally and adding a tbsp of oil at intervals.
Add turmeric powder, sambar powder and table salt and mix well.
SPRINKLE little water. Cover and cook.
When done add coconut, give it a mix and serve.
Ideal for lunch and chappati.
Note: By sauting for 10 mins, the greasiness in ladies finger will be reduced to a great extent.If you over cook the greenishness and crispness of the vegetable will be lost.
