Onions 2 no
Tomato 1 no
Garlic 5-6 pods
Ginger 1/4" piece
Coconut 3 tbsp
Sambar powder 1 tbsp
Dhania powder 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Oil 4 tbsp
Cinnamon, cloves each 1
Curry leaves few
Salt to taste
Boil eggs and remove the shells.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in kadai and add onions, ginger, garlic, poppy seeds, coriander leaves and saute well till the onions are cooked. Switch off the stove and add coconut. Mix well.
Add sambar powder and Dhania powder and grind to a smooth paste with little water.
Heat a tbsp of oil and saute the chopped tomatoes and add the ground masala and saute for a minute.
Add enough water, salt and turmeric powder. Let in go the eggs also.
Cook covered till the raw smell goes.
Heat the remaining oil and fry the whole garam masalas with curry leaves and add to the kolambu.
Serve for rice. idli, dosa or any Indian bread.
