CUCUMBER BUTTERMILK RELISH


Cucumber is an excellent cooling agent. The benefits of this wonderful vegetable is vast.


INGREDIENTS:

Cucumber 1 full piece

Curd 1 cup

Coriander leaves a handfull

Pepper powder 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Method:

Peel off the skin of the cucumber and chop into cubes. If the tender variety is used dont peel the skin.Add cucumber pieces, curd and coriander leaves to the blender and mix well. Add salt and pepper powder at last and serve.

All fruit juices should be consumed immediately to get the wholesome benefits. This is good for people who are on diet.

MASALA BUTTERMILK


Buttermilk is the traditionally served cooler in south India. It is rich with wonderful qualities and the cheapest in value.Its qualities are well defined here.http://www.ayurhelp.com/ayurveda/buttermilk.htm

Ingredients :

Curd 2 cups

Water 1 cup

Green chilly 1 No.

Ginger 1/2" piece

curry leaves few

salt to taste


METHOD:

Add all the ingredients to the blender and blend well. Strain and serve.

CARROT JUICE


CARROT JUICE
Juiced carrots contain beta-carotene and copious amounts of vitamin A, nourishing the blood and cooling pitta. The effect is prominent in the eyes, which feel cool after carrot juice. Carrot juice also acts as a sweetener. Lemon 'astringes' the liver, squeezing and cleansing it. Lemon and ginger are both sialagogues, increasing saliva and gastric juices. Lemon Carrot Ginger Zinger is a cleanser.


Ingredients
8 carrot Carrot
1/2 inch Ginger (Fresh)
1/2 lemon Lemon


Method

Wash the carrots, cut the tips, chop and place in the juicer. Peel the ginger and place in the juicer. Squeeze in the lemon and stir.

Masala Chai


Chai in many languages is the term used for tea. It comes from "cha" ,the chinese word for tea. There are many ways and flovours to prepare this hot soothing drink. Masala chai is the popular amongst them.
Spiced Chai ( serves 2)
Milk 2 cups
water 1/2 cup
Sugar 2 spoons
Tea 2 spoons
cardamom 2 pods
cinnamon 1/2" stick
Method:
Boil water with all the spices. Add tea and sugar leave to boilfor 3 minutes. Then drain the liquid add hot milk and sugar as per taste. Enjoy sip by sip.
